A page turned, a chapter completed, a battle fought, a victory won, and a life’s book closed.
We bow in humble submission to the will of God as this loving family has charged our staff to make known to all that their beloved: Mrs. Bonita Taylor Hicks of Dawson, Georgia was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1960, answered the master's call and exchanged time for eternity on Friday, July 1, 2022.
Mrs. Bonita “Nita” Taylor Hicks was born on February 23, 1960, to Mary Beal Taylor in Parrott, Georgia. At the age of three, Nita’s mother passed away, leaving her in the care of her grandparents, Bully and Elsie Hammond Beal.
At an early age, she joined Jackson Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Parrott, Georgia. In later years she joined First Monumental Faith Ministries. Until her health failed, she was a faithful servant of the Hospitality Board.
Nita attended Terrell County High School, she was a member of the graduating class of 1979.
Whatever job she landed, she gave it her all. Nita worked in several different fields, logistics and healthcare. Her most enjoyable work was at Family Dollar in Dawson, Georgia and serving as a Home Health Aide throughout Southwest Georgia.
On July 1, 2022, at Dawson Health and Rehabilitation, she quietly gave up this earthly life to rejoice in the arms of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband, John Arthur Hicks; nephew, Corri Mondtrelle Minter; sisters, Nellie Mae “Pollye” Tolbert, Katherine “Kat” Regina Taylor-Peters, and Betty Hall; two brothers-in-law, Horace Jerome Peters and Benjamin Tolbert.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a loving and devoted niece, LaTasha Monique Taylor; a nephew, Desmond Shantavious Tolbert; niece and nephew, Marilyn Hall, Roderick Hall; bonus siblings, James Beal, Jr. Henry Beal, Carrie Mincey, Ruby Frazier, and Pastor Janie Pierce; god-daughters, Xaviera Morris and Tabatha Robinson; very special best friend, Evelyn Jenkins Bryant; special cousin, Patricia Beal Harris; and a host of many sorrowing in-laws, close relatives, and friends.
